PRCA World Champion bull rider and former SRSU student Ky Hamilton was met with tremendous challenges and adversity at the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in 2023. Beginning this Spring, cadets at the SRSU Law Enforcement Academy (LEA) may be eligible for financial aid. SRSU is launching the LEA Certificate Program within the Department of Homeland Security & Criminal Justice, which will allow cadets to qualify for financial assistance through this new initiative. SRSU LEA does not require sponsorship. Cadets can enroll in the Basic Peace Officer Course without sponsorship from a police department, which allows to apply and complete training on their own terms.
